Notice of JEFCOED Board and Committee Meetings
The Jefferson County Board of Education will have a Special Called Board meeting on March 9, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the board’s office, 2100 18th Street South, Birmingham, Alabama. The purpose of the meeting shall be to consider and vote on personnel actions and other board business. The Jefferson County Board of Education will meet for our regular Committee Meeting immediately following the Special Called Board Meeting.
The regular March Board Meeting will be on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Board Room . -

Congratulations to our art teacher, Mrs. James for being nominated as the Teacher of the Year for Mount Olive Elementary! We love having art back at MOE!

I am excited to share with you that artwork from Mount Olive Elementary has been chosen to represent the Jefferson County School System at the State Superintendent Art Show in Montgomery, Alabama. Only 10 elementary artists are selected to represent JEFCOED at the state show. Please join me in congratulating Juliana Cruse (5th grader at Mount Olive) on her artistic accomplishments!

Mount Olive Elementary School students did an excellent job on the spring 2022 ACAP Assessment. Overall, the students ranked second in the district based on the percent scoring proficient compared to other schools in the district.
A highlight of the ACAP Assessment were the 4th grade math scores. The Mount Olive Elementary School fourth graders had the highest percentage of students scoring proficient in the district!Thank you to all the families who supported your students in being successful on this assessment! -
