Meet the Teacher

    West Jefferson Elementary School

ChromeBook Pickup and “Meet the Teacher”

This message is for parents of students who attend West Jefferson Elementary School.

Parents – Our teachers have been directed to begin making contact with the parents of students who have completed the 2020-21 registration process.  If you don’t receive an email or phone call from your child’s teacher by this Wednesday, August 26, it probably means one of two things:

    1. You have not yet completed the registration process for your child.

        2.  The teacher does not have correct contact information for you on file.

Please call the school on Thursday if you completed the registration process and didn’t receive an email or phone call from your child’s teacher.

We will have device pickup and a brief “Meet the Teacher” opportunity in a drive-through format for those students who have completed the registration process and have completed the online “Technology Survey.”   Students and parents will remain in their cars at all times.  Our teachers and staff will be wearing masks and we encourage you and your child to wear masks for the safety of everyone. Parents should be prepared to show some form of photo identification in order to pick up a device. Please note that devices will only be handed out to families that indicated a need for one via this Survey The schedule is as follows:

     Pickup arrangements:

West Jefferson Elementary school will distribute ChromeBooks and host a “Meet the Teacher” on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 from 8:00 -11:30 a.m. and 12:30-5:00 p.m.

Please pull in front of the school and collect documents that we need for you to complete.  We will direct you to a location to park and complete the documents.  Once you have completed the documents, turn on your hazard lights so that we know that you are done.  At that point, someone from the office will come to your car and collect the documents.  We will then notify your child’s teacher to come to your car for “Meet the Teacher” and then we will deliver your ChromeBook to you.

We will not be able to assist with registration during the times that we are having “Meet the Teacher” and Device Pickup, so we strongly encourage you to complete the registration process by Monday, August 24 so that your child will be able to meet his or her teacher and pick up a device, if you indicated you needed one on the survey.

We look forward to seeing everyone Wednesday.  Remember, you must have completed registration and completed the “Technology Survey” before you can receive a ChromeBook.
