Dr. Tara M. Foster, NBCT

Dr. Tara M. Foster, NBCT is the principal of Hueytown Primary School. Prior to serving in this role, she served as an elementary school teacher, a college professor, and as an assistant principal serving in elementary, middle, and high schools. She also served as a Math and Science Training Coordinator for AMSTI (Alabama Math, Science and Technology Initiative) located on the campus of UAB where she provided training and instructional support for teachers within eight school districts within the Jefferson County region.

 

Dr. Foster believes her personal mission is “Planting the Seeds...Fostering the Future.” In order to prepare herself for her career, Dr. Foster attended and graduated from the following schools:

  • Ramsay Magnet High School, Birmingham, AL
  • Alabama State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education
  • University of Montevallo, earning Master’s of Education degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Capella University, earning a Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Leadership in Educational Administration
  • UAB, earning a Master’s of Arts in Education degree in Education Leadership
  • Auburn University, earning an Educational Specialist degree in Adult Education

 

She also earned the distinction of being a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) as an Elementary Generalist in 2007 and recertified in 2017.

 

Dr. Foster also has numerous professional activities and awards including:

  • Elementary Teacher of the Year, Brighton School, 2017
  • Elementary Teacher of the Year, Jefferson County Schools, 2017

Dr. Tara M. Foster, NBCT (siglas en inglés de Consejo Nacional de Maestros Certificados) es la directora de la Escuela Primaria Hueytown. Previamente ella trabajó como maestra de primaria, profesora de colegio/universidad, y como directora asistente en escuelas primarias, secundarias y preparatorias. También fue Coordinadora del Entrenamiento de Matemáticas y Ciencias para AMSTI (siglas en inglés para la Iniciativa de Alabama en Matemáticas, Ciencias y Tecnología) localizado en el campus de UAB, donde ella proporcionó entrenamiento y apoyo educacional para maestros con ocho distritos escolares dentro de la región del Condado de Jefferson.
