Dr. Loni Hodge, Principal

I am honored to be the prinicpal at Johnson Elementary School for the 2020-2021 school year! I believe that every student has the ability to be successful and feel that it is our job, as educators, to help them towards that success. I am looking forward to another great year getting to know our new students & parents and seeing all of our returning students at Johnson Elementary School.

Before coming to Johnson, I spent the previous two years as the Assistant Principal at Gardendale Elementary School. I taught Special Education for 10 years, prior to becoming an administrator. I am also a state licensed ASL (American Sign Language) Interpreter.

On a personal note, I am married to Justin and we have 3 awesome kids who are 9, 6, & 5. We enjoy spending time together, playing sports, cooking, and traveling!

I am so excited to be at Johnson Elementary and to be serving the Pinson community.  I taught 13 years in the Jefferson County School district.   I obtained an undergraduate degree from Samford University in 2007 in Early Childhood/Elementary Education.  I then received a Masters of Education in the area of Special Education in 2009 and a second Masters of Education in the area of Instructional Leadership at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2019.  I believe school should be a safe place for kids to come to and have fun learning! I am looking forward to working collaboratively with parents, teachers, and staff to help meet the needs of all of our students.
