Greetings, 

My name is Bert Stewart and I am proud to serve as the new Principal here at Irondale Community School. It is with great excitement and pleasure that we welcome our awesome students back in person for the 2021-2022 school year. 

To share a little about myself: I am a veteran administrator with the Jefferson County School district, I am married to my awesome wife, Lisa and we have two adult children. I am a committed instructional leader, I am a lifelong learner, and I have a passion for students' achievement.

Under my tutelage, I had the esteemed opportunity to lead and serve my former school to the Torchbearer Award. The Torchbearer Award is a prestigious award to honor Alabama schools that succeed in spite of overwhelming odds. I also shared our successes as a presenter at the Mega Conference with educators from around the state.  

The mission of Irondale Community School, in partnership with parents and the community, is to provide meaningful educational experiences within a safe, caring, and disciplined environment. I sincerely embody our mission. With that being stated, I along with the entire faculty and staff will be committed to these beliefs and experiences for student achievement.

My vision for the Irondale Community, it’s Students, and the ICS staff, is that we are purposeful and collaborative in all that we do.

My implied motto: TEAMWORK! When the best and brightest come together the possibilities are endless.
