Dr. Sharon Gallant
Every day is a GREAT day at Clay!
Dr.Sharon Gallant is in her eleventh year as principal of Clay Elementary School. Previously at Clay, she has served as Assistant Principal for two years and a primary teacher for twenty-two years. She has also served at Oak Grove Elementary School as well as Gardendale ElementarySchool in the Jefferson County School District.
Dr. Gallant is trained as a Mentor in the Alabama New Principal Mentoring Program as well as being certified as a National Mentor Principal. She is a member of CLAS, an Alabama based chapter of AAESA (Alabama Association of Elementary School Administrators) and NAESP National Association of Elementary School Principals). She is an active participant in the Clay-Chalkville Feeder Pattern group as well as the leader of Clay Elementary's Continuous Improvement Leadership Team. Dr.Gallant, representing Clay Elementary, is a participating member of the City of Clay Chamber of Commerce.
Personally, Dr. Gallant is a resident of Clay, married and the mother of four children who also came through Clay-Chalkville Schools. She has four grandchildren. She is a member of CrossPoint Baptist Church in Argo. When she finds time she enjoys running and participating in 5K and half-marathons, working in her yard and reading for pleasure.
At Clay, most of the students and teachers can recite the life-long motto Dr. Gallant has taught here at Clay for everyday living. We all know to "Do what's right because it's the right thing to do"! This instills PRIDE in each stakeholder as we Prepare Responsible Individuals Dedicated to Excellence!
