    Welcome to Minor High School, Home of the “Tenacious Tigers”!

    My name is Tracey Goreed and I am the 9th grade counselor here at Minor High School!  I am excited to assist you with the beginning of your high school journey! 

    I have over 19 years of educational experience ranging from a classroom teacher to a high school counselor.  I am a proud graduate of Alabama A&M University, where I received my B.S. degree in Elementary Education and later received my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Alabama State University.

    Everyday that I am able to help transform the lives of young people and to support them as they become leaders in society is such a reward!

    Greetings!

    My name is Kimberly Morton, and I have the great opportunity to work with sophomores and juniors at Minor High School. I am originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I received my B.A in Elementary Education from The University of Alabama. After teaching a couple years, I obtained my Master’s of Education and Educational Specialist degree in School Counseling from The University of West Alabama. I spent the last 10 years in counseling working with all grade levels. Counseling is my passion and I strive everyday to provide students with opportunities to become successful adults. I look forward to this upcoming school year and cannot wait to see what the future holds.

    My name is Christopher Jones.  I am the Senior Class School Counselor at Minor High School. I am originally from Decatur, Al, where I was born and raised. I received my Master’s degree in School Counseling from Troy University.  I have spent the majority of my School Counseling career in Jefferson County Schools.  My role as a school counselor has truly been rewarding and I’m excited to be working with students, teachers, the administrative team, and parents who are vested in educational success.  My belief is to always encourage all students to strive to achieve their goals.
