Ms. Molly McCormick
Ms. Molly McCormick is no stranger to education. She grew up in Gadsden, Alabama watching her mother teach high school students with disabilities. Both of her older sisters are Special Educators (one of which is also, a Jefco SLP) and her grandmother was an English Teacher. She is a graduate of Ole Miss with a Bachelor's in Special Education, Auburn with a Master's in Reading Education and UAB with a Post Master's in Educational Leadership. Ms. McCormick has experience in elementary school and high school, spending her first years of education at Hoover High School as a Special Education Teacher. She then moved to McAdory Elementary as a Special Education Teacher before coming to Chalkville Elementary as Assistant Principal. She enjoys spending time with her two young daughters, listening to music, running, and biking.
Her mission as an instructional leader is to lead others to be successful and to motivate teachers of students with diverse and individual needs by giving all staff a chance to be heard, a place to teach that is safe, and a wealth of resources to feel supported in the increasingly demanding job of educating all. Her vision an instructional leader is to inspire a positive community by leading a school that will successfully educate, engage, motivate, and include all students.
