Mrs. Lori Lightsey

Ms. Lightsey began her career as a 5th grade teacher at Minor Junior High School in Jefferson County.  She spent the first 18 years in the Minor feeder pattern. After a few years as a media specialist, she began her administrative career and has served the communities of Pleasant Grove, Irondale, and McAdory as an assistant principal or principal.

Her educational philosophy centers around the belief that all students can learn when given a positive learning environment, a supportive educational team, and the desire to continuously learn and grow.  The IB philosophy of "developing inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who are motivated to succeed and build a better world through intercultural understanding and respect"  is clearly in line with her personal philosophy..

Ms. Lightsey received her Bachelors of Education from the University of Montevallo, a Masters of Science from the University of Alabama, a M.L.I.S. from the University of Alabama, and an Educational Leadership certification from Samford University.
