Give Hope Day Set For Thursday September 28th
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. JEFCOED will once again be partnering with the Hope for Autumn Foundation for Give Hope Day on Thursday, September 28th. Students and Employees are encouraged to wear gold/yellow on Give Hope Day!

National Emergency Test 10/04/23
We would like to inform you about an event on Wednesday, October 4. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has scheduled a National Emergency Test to be held during regular school hours.
According to FEMA, the purpose of the test is to ensure that the system remains an effective means of warning the public about real emergencies, particularly those on a national level. Beginning at 1:20 p.m. CT (2:20 p.m. ET), cell towers will broadcast the test for approximately 30 minutes.

The test will be broadcast through various communication channels, including emergency alert systems (radios and televisions) and wireless emergency alerts (cell phones).

It is expected that many devices within school premises, such as smartphones, tablets, TVs, and computers, may receive notifications as part of this test.

On cell phones, the message will say, “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”

On radio and TV, the test will be similar to regular messages distributed each month. It will say, “This is a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.”
