Update for Remote Learning
Remote students are now REQUIRED to turn their cameras on for all class meetings for the remainder of the school year. If students are concerned about their background at home, they can change their background. There is a link below to a video tutorial of how to change their background.

MMS Tiger Cafe'
MMS is offering an optional program called the Tiger Cafe'. This is an opportunity for any student who failed a core class to receive a passing grade for the first 9 weeks grading period. Core classes consist of English, science, math, and social studies. Traditional students have received their permission forms. Remote students may access this permission form below. This program will be accessible through Classlink. Permission forms must be submitted back to the school by Thursday, November 12th. The program will begin on Monday, November 16th until Friday, December 11th. If you have any questions, please call Minor Middle School at (205) 379-2550.

Internet Voucher
The Alabama Broadband Connectivity for Students Program will provide free Internet access for eligible students who are enrolled in the National School Lunch Program through their schools and receive free or reduced lunch.
Next week, families will begin to receive letters with vouchers in the mail. The vouchers will cover equipment and service costs for high-speed Internet service through December 2020.
If you receive a letter, you should then follow the steps listed below.
Step 1: Once you receive your ABC voucher in the mail, call a participating internet service provider listed on the front of your letter.
Step 2: Tell the internet service provider: "I have an Alabama ABC Voucher" and provide the number on the front of your letter.
Step 3: Your internet service provider will provide any equipment or installation you may need. Don’t worry, they will talk you through the process and the costs are covered by the voucher.
Step 4: Once service begins, help your student get online so they can be ready to start learning.

Our very own, Ms. Domita Clark, was presented with the 89.9 WayFM Crystal Apple Award for continuously going above and beyond for our students. During this school-wide assembly, Ms. Clark was also named Teacher of the Month for October. Ms. Clark has been an asset at MMS for 15 years and works tirelessly to give our students a stellar and Grade A education. We truly appreciate Ms. Clark for all she does.
