Hueytown HERO Program
HERO encourages positive student behavior choices. When students demonstrate HERO behaviors, they may earn points toward exciting incentives. We invite students and parents to register your own HERO account so we may keep the lines of communication between home and school open.

Team Up for Technology
Congratulations to Hueytown High School for being a top 10 Semi-Finalist for the Team Up for Technology $48,000 grant to purchase brand new technology!! The 2018 grant recipient will be announced by the end of November 2018.

JEFCOED Welcomes Newest Board Member, Mrs. Carita Venable
Jefferson County Schools is proud to announce Mrs. Carita Venable as the new board member in place #5. As a former Jefferson County employer, but no stranger to education, Mrs. Venable looks forward to the opportunity to continue her service to the students in Jefferson County in a different capacity.

All-County and All-State Band
Congratulations to our JEFCOED students who were selected through competitive auditions from all middle and high schools in Jefferson and Shelby Counties.

JEFCOED District Spelling Bee
We are so proud of all of our district's spelling bee participants. This year's bee was 38 rounds--a new JEFCOED record! The top 3 spellers will represent our school district at the Jefferson County Spelling Bee in February.

Click the link below to send an email requesting your Chalkable (iNow) information. Please indicate whether this request is for student access or parent access.
Be sure to include the student's:
- First name
- Last Name
- Grade Level

Residency Verification
Until Residency Verification is completed, a student is not officially enrolled in school. Residency verifications must be done in person at Hueytown High School.
The following is needed for residence verification:- Current lease or deed
- 2 current utility bills ( must be Power, Gas or Water)
- Parent/Guardian Picture ID ( DL or State issued ID)
- If a student does not live with both parents, custody papers are required
If you have a student who is NEW to HHS and DID NOT attend HMS or Brighton last year, you will also need the following:
- Social Security Card ( requested, not required)
- Birth Certificate
- Current Alabama Immunization Form (blue form)
- Last Report Card from previous school

Kelly Educational Staffing is hosting a job fair for substitute teachers, paraprofessionals, and cafeteria workers on Thursday, February 28th at Shades Valley High School.

Approved 2019-2020 & 2020-2021 JEFCOED District Calendars
Thank you for your feedback in regards to the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 district calendars. Option A received the majority vote for both years amongst employees and parents and was board approved.

Spring Immunization Clinics with Health Hero
Students entering the 6th grade will require an additional dose of TDAP (tetanus-diphtheria toxoid & acellular pertussis) vaccine. Students must have this vaccine in order to enter 6th grade. If you would like to participate in Health Hero's School-Located Vaccination Clinic, please review the schedule and complete in full the consent form found in the link above.
