  • 8th Grade Transition Ceremony Website Information (click link for more information)

    Good Afternoon! Erwin Middle School will be celebrating and recognizing our 8th grade students at our 8th Grade Transition Ceremony. The ceremony will be held, Thursday, May 20th in our school’s gymnasium. This year's theme is EMS Graduating Class of 2021 "We Can Achieve Virtually Anything". To safely accommodate students and parents, the ceremony has been divided into three sessions. Students with last name [A-Gib] will have their ceremony from 8:30-10:00 a.m., students with last name [Gid-Par] will have their ceremony from 10:30-11:30 a.m., and students with last name [Pas - Z] will have their ceremony from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Students are expected to be on time for their ceremony. Each student will only be allowed to have 2 guests attend in person. All attendees must wear facial coverings and abide by our COVID-19 safety protocols. Additionally, the ceremony will be live streamed so that other friends and family members can attend virtually. All students are expected to be in compliance with JECOED Dress Code Policy. Ceremony Attire: Dressy attire Practice will be held on May 18th in the gymnasium at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 1:30 p.m. Virtual students will receive a Webex Link for Practice Dates. Virtual and traditional students will be asked to come on campus May 20th for their specific ceremony. Parents or guardians will be allowed to sign out their students with their teacher at the end of the ceremony. In addition, 8th grade students, who would like to participate in the 8th Grade Video, should send a baby picture along with a current picture. The student's names should be labeled on the back of the picture. Please submit your entries to Mrs. Tinsley before Monday, May 18th. Please let me know if there are additional concerns. Thank you,

  • Dress Code Reminders

    • Jeans with open holes above the knee are not allowed
    • Skirts and dresses must be no shorter than 4 inches above the knee
    • Cut off tops, tank tops, and mesh or sheer tops can be worn if a t-shirt with sleeves is worn underneath or another shirt is worn over the top. The cover shirt or undershirt may not be clear or mesh
    • No halter-tops, spaghetti strap tops. Midriff tops, or overly revealing shirts
    • Purses and book bags are not allowed in class
    • Leggings and jeggings are allowed only if you have appropriate clothing over them that meet the dress code policy
