The media center is open from 8:20 A.M. until 3:00 P.M.
Parents are also invited to visit the media center and use its resources.
Parent volunteers are always welcomed and needed.










Our media center features the following:

computers with OPAC
(Online Public Access Catalog), Internet Access,
AR, STAR,
and Conerstone Programs
Approximately
8,500 collection titles
Nearly 6,000
Accelerated Reader test titles
Professional
collection includes computer software, videos, manipulatives, games, and books
Reference
collection includes print and CD-ROM encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases,
almanacs, and assorted books of interest
WICS television
studio
Nearly 6,000 Accelerated Reader Books; fiction and non-fiction
Subscriptions
to numerous periodicals
The purpose of the Irondale Community School Media Center is to promote reading, teach library skills, and provide access to information: thus enabling students to become lifelong users of information.
CIRCULATION POLICIES
Students
may check out 3 books at a time
with the exception of holidays.
The
fee for all lost books is $15.00.
Parents may opt to replace the lost book
with a hardback copy from a local book store.
There
are no late fee charges.
Accelerated
Reader (AR) books are checked out
upon the teacher's request.
