Skills Agenda for Reading Intervention Teachers
Carrie Easterwood Dana Teems Anne McDaniel
The Reading Intervention Teachers will target the following skills with struggling readers in grades K-3: accuracy, automaticity, fluency, active building of meaning, and self-regulation. Reading Intervention is designed to help struggling readers become skillful readers of grade-level materials. Teaching reading requires frequent use of assessment data, smaller group instruction, and more highly skilled instruction in reading. Struggling readers who score in the Intensive range of DIBELS receive 3-5 additional small group sessions per week. Struggling readers who score in the Strategic range of DIBELS receive additional small group sessions as needed.
