Choir Course Descriptions
6th Grade Beginning Choir
Any
6th grader that wishes to participate in a year long course may
sign up for choir. This choir will learn the basics of singing in a choir.
This includes reading musical notation, rhythm, and basic part singing. Uniform
cost is approximately $23.00. Students will perform between 3-6 concerts
per year.
7th/8th Grade Intermediate Choir
The
intermediate choir is for 7th and 8th graders new to
the choir program. Students do not have to audition for this choir. Students
will learn the basics of singing in parts, musical notation and rhythm. They
will participate in 3-6 concerts per year, including a choir festival where
they will be adjudicated. Uniform cost is approximately $55.00.
7th/8th Grade Advanced Choir
Advanced
choir is an auditioned choir of students that have participated in the choir
program at least one year. Students will focus on advanced part singing,
musical notation and rhythm. This choir will participate in 5-10 concerts
per year, including at least one adjudicated choir festival. This choir also
participates in the All-County Choir Festival. There are also travel opportunities
in the spring for this choir. Trips in the past have included Atlanta and
Orlando. Uniform cost is approximately $55.00.
