Ambassadors
The
application for the AMMBASSADOR program will begin in late March/early
April for current 6th
and 7th graders. The purpose of this page is to inform you
of the program and the detail the criteria for selection if your child is
interested
Purpose: To provide excellent service to the school
and the community by acting as hosts/hostesses at school functions such as
PTA meetings, registration, concerts, banquets and other events.
Requirements: To be selected as an Ambassador, students must
meet the following criteria during the academic year in which they are applying
for selection:
1.
Be in the 6th or 7th grade,
2.
Have exemplary academic records with and overall average of 85,
3.
Have outstanding citizenship records with no referrals to the office.
Selection:
in order to be selected as an ambassador, students will fill out an application
and submit it to the faculty advisor. In
addition, the applicant must give the four teacher evaluation forms to three
academic teachers and one other teacher to be completed and returned to the
faculty advisor. The students with the top twenty scores will be selected
as ambassadors for the following school year.
Uniform:
Students selected as Ambassadors will be required to purchase a uniform shirt
for approximately $25.00 selected by the faculty advisor. The uniform will
consist of a polo type shirt in school colors with “Bottenfield Ambassador”
embroidered on the left side to be worn with khaki pants for boys and khaki
pants or skirt for girls.
Training: Ambassadors will be required
to attend a training session before assuming the duties of an ambassador for
the new school year.
Maintaining
Status as an Ambassador:Ambassadors will be representing our school in
a variety of situations. Therefore, they must be an example to others and
project exemplary character all the time.
1. Academic: Any ambassador who drops below the required average of an 85 at the end of the spring semester of the year in which he/she is selected or at the end of the first semester of the year in which she is serving will be asked to resign from the group.
2.)
Citizenship: Any ambassador who is referred to the office at
any time after selection of the group will be asked to resign.

Ambassadors must purchase required uniform.
2.)
Any Ambassador whose overall average drops below an 85 in any grading period
will be put on probation until the next grading period. If the average does
not come back up to an 85, the student will be removed from the Ambassador
Program.
3.)
Any Ambassador may not chew gum or eat candy while performing the duties of
an Ambassador.
4.)
Any Ambassador who misses more than one assigned event during the semester
will be removed from the Ambassadors. Other school activities are excused
with prior permission from the faculty advisor. The faculty advisor must receive
a written excuse for any missed event prior to the day of the event.
5.)
Any Ambassador who is referred to the office and has disciplinary action will
be removed from the Ambassadors
6.)
Ambassadors should arrive at the scheduled event 30 minutes before the starting
time of the event.
7.)
All Ambassadors are required to attend a training session scheduled by the
faculty advisor.
Although
being an Ambassador is an honor, please remember that it will sometimes require
your time after school, on Saturday, and during the summer. Please consider
this before accepting an appointment to the Ambassadors.
