Teacher Applicants
Applicants for teacher vacancies in the Jefferson County School System must complete an online application and include the following attachments with the application: Valid Alabama Teacher’s Certificate and/or letter from college or university, college transcript(s), and a resume.
Administrative Applicants
Applicants for administrative/supervisory vacancies in the Jefferson County School System must complete an online application and include the following attachments with the application: Letter of interest to Lawrence C. Carter, Director of Human Resources, resume, valid Alabama Administrator’s Certificate and/or letter from college or university, and a college transcript(s).
Please go to www.alsde.edu and click on the “Teach in Alabama” link for the online application. Follow the State Department’s instructions and complete the online application; remember to include the attachments listed above.

Classified Applicants
Applicants for classified vacancies such as bus drivers, clerical, child nutrition, maintenance, aides, etc. must complete an online application. Please click here and follow the step by step application process.
Substitute Applicants
Applicants for substitute positions (teachers, bus drivers and aides, cafeteria, custodian) must complete an online application. Please click here and follow the step by step application process.
Once you have completed an application you may apply for any vacancy posted by clicking on the jobs link and selecting the jobs for which you would like to apply.
