Congratulations to our Bragg Middle School students who are the State Champions for the Intermediate Division and to our JCIB students for winning the Senior High Division of the Alabama Future Problem Solving Bowl held in Montgomery March 11-12!

The Bragg Middle School students that not only placed 1st in the Booklet competition but also 1st in the Presentation of Action Plan competition! They have earned the right to go on to compete in the International Future Problem Solving Bowl held in Wisconsin on June 9-12.

Welcome to the Jefferson County School System Gifted Education Program! Gifted students are served through a variety of services. Kindergarten through second grade students are served in the general education classroom through collaboration of the general education teacher with the gifted specialist. Third through fifth/sixth grade students are served with pull-out services provided by the gifted specialist, in a resource learning center (RLC). Sixth through eighth grade students are served through: optional Pre-AP classes taught by a highly qualified teacher, electives, extracurricular activities, and the guidance of a gifted specialist. High school students are served through the International Baccalaureate school, AP courses, Honor courses, dual enrollment, and extracurricular activities. We offer a thematic, conceptually based curriculum with an experiential education approach. Some of our themes are represented under the Curriculum title on this web page.
