Ex Ed Art Show Tugs at the Heart Strings to See Such Talented Students

Each year around 200 students participate in a district-wide recognition. Local judges reduce the 200 to about 21 selections
And then a professional artist or panel of artists makes 11 Best of Show selections and 10 honorable mentions.
 
Parents and relatives of the artists are invited to the board including refreshments in the cafeteria and a ceremony of presentation by the director of Special education. The artists of the 21 pieces are all given beribboned medals similar to the Olympian ones.
 
Fox 6 covered the story with Laura Rickman as their spokesman from JEFCOED. The event was coordinated by Treva Artimisi and Wanda Westbrook.
