This is the image for the news article titled Hueytown and Pleasant Grove Go for the Gold to Fight Childhood CancerHueytown and Pleasant Grove are “Going for the Gold” to fight childhood cancer.  The Zone proudly presented a check for $5,827.00 to Open Hands Overflowing Hearts. The “Zone” refers to the neighboring communities and schools of both Hueytown and Pleasant Grove.  These loving communities known as the “Zone”, have joined together to raise money for this worthy cause.  The hard working people of the Zone have donated in honor and memory of those closest to their hearts.  

The money was presented in memory of “Tiny” Eleanor McKay who passed away in 2015.  It was also dedicated to Colby Harris who is a student at Hueytown High who is currently battling in the fight.  They were honored to have Eleanor’s parents, Tonya & Chris McKay, and Colby’s, Stacey & Ronnie Harris, to present the check to Open Hands Overflowing Hearts. Colby joined them via Facetime from his hospital room where he is currently receiving treatment. All fans got on their feet and made noise to show him support. They also released balloons in memory of “Tiny” Eleanor McKay.

These communities are committed to continue working and making a difference in the lives of children, especially with those fighting cancer.
