Text Box: Pony Pals - Parent/Child Horsemanship
This program introduces children ages 4-7 to the horse and horseback riding.  An accompanying adult leads the horse or pony as the child learns commands for walking, turning and stopping.  Active participation by an accompanying adult is required.  Class is limited to 8 children.  
3 Sundays,  Apr 1, 15 & 29
1:30-2:30 p.m. or 2:30-3:30 p.m.
$50/per parent & child, payable to Camp Coleman

This class is designed to help you strengthen your relationship with your child and reduce the amount of daily conflict, hassles, arguments, and temper outbursts in your home.  You will learn specific techniques and skills to improve your child’s behavior and regain your control as a parent.

More Ponies Please - Ages 4 - 8

Children who have participated in Pony Pals will begin learning independent control of the horse (riding a horse by themselves).  Children will ride in small groups with a parent nearby, to help when needed.  The class will also include learning how to care for and work safely around horses.  Closed toed shoes are required for everyone visiting the barn. Limited to 6 students per session.

Adventure on the Cahaba - Ages 11-Adult

A full-day, guided paddling adventure on the Cahaba River with morning instruction to prepare you for the afternoon trip from Trussville’s Civitan Park to Camp Coleman (about 3-3 1/2 hr trip). Camp Coleman will provide a well-trained guide, shuttle service to transport to the park plus all necessary gear. Bring a sack lunch, drinks and bottled water.

Test Taking Tips for the ACT

Students will learn valuable test taking tips and will take a practice test from each of the four sections of the ACT test:  Science, Math, Reading and English. Tests will be scored and the results discussed.

Students will take a practice ACT test.  Participants will become acquainted with the test format.  Test taking strategies will be given.  This class is appropriate for students who have not taken the ACT for the first time.  Students will become familiar with test questions and test time frames with each subject section.

Babysitting 101 - Ages 11 & up

Learn the responsibilities and qualities of a good babysitter! This class features fun activities, lively discussion and real-life problem-solving situations. Learn about the basics of child care, making good decisions, keeping kids safe, handling emergencies, and what to expect from interviews with parents.  Bring a sack lunch and drink.

Remedial Algebra - Grades 9 - 12

This class begins with integers and follows the course sequence for Algebra I.  It is appropriate for current algebra students and students currently taking Algebra II  and Algebra III who are lacking basic algebra skills.  Algebra is essential to other required higher math classes.  Homework will be assigned.  All homework will be checked & discussed during class.
