General Leave Provisions for Teachers

Leaves of absence for teachers shall not be considered a termination of employment, but only a temporary suspension of contractual duties.

Any person on leave of absence shall be returned to the system following expiration of the leave of absence and to a position equal to that previously served if such a position is available

A teacher anticipating a leave of absence shall file an appropriate form requesting the leave of absence.

All leave of absence forms must be countersigned by the principal.

A teacher on leave of absence shall notify the superintendent at least ten days prior to teacher's return.
