PHILOSOPHY OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION PROGRAM

Because the Board believes that the acquisition of occupational skills is a sound investment in human resources, the Board encourages and supports benefiting the community by offering programs determined by occupational demand. These programs, offered in accordance with policies of the Alabama State Department of Education, Vocational Division, and policies of the local Board of Education, will provide an opportunity for interested persons in the community to acquire a salable skill or become more proficient in the occupational skills they may already possess.

The philosophical base of the Vocational and Adult Education program shall be determined by a periodic comprehensive needs assessment within the school district.

The Vocational Education program shall be a contributing factor of the total educational structure through well-planned instructional programs embracing the sound learning concepts which are germane to the development of a well-rounded individual.
