RULES OF ORDER
Because the public is best served when Board meetings are conducted according to an established, expedient procedure and pursuant to public school law, (CODE OF ALABAMA, 16-8-4) which states that rules generally adopted by deliberative bodies for their government shall be observed by the county boards of education, the Board has adopted Robert's Rules of Order (modified) as the rules of order for conducting meetings of the Jefferson County Board of Education.
The Board shall construct and adopt rules and regulations in the form of by-laws which may be amended by the Board and which will modify
Robert's Rules of Order suitable to the organization. A parliamentarian may be appointed by the Board to assist during official sessions.
