MEMBERSHIP IN THE ALABAMA ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL BOARDS

The Alabama Association of School Boards (AASB) is the organization recognized by state law as the representative agency for Alabama public school boards (CODE OF ALABAMA, 16-1-6). The AASB serves as the local school board's liaison to government agencies, associations, organizations and other school boards on both the state and national level. The AASB also sponsors inservice training sessions for members of Alabama public school boards.

In view of these services and in accordance with public school law, it shall be the policy of the Jefferson County Board of Education to be a member of the Alabama Association of School Boards.
