First Lady Michelle Obama welcomes and honors three JefCoEd employees
Three of JefCoEd child nutrition employees met with First Lady Michelle Obama Monday, October 17 for a big honor at the White House. It is the Healthier US School Challenge school competition which helps children learn about healthy food choices and being more physically active. There were 1243 schools honored and helping all students today become healthy adults for tomorrow is the goal.
At the White House reception were director of child nutrition program Sonja Anthony, Clay Chalkville lunchroom manager Genella Bass, and North Highlands lunchroom manager Vivian White. The program has expanded the number of schools accepting this challenge from First Lady Michelle Obama to help all children eat healthier and have more good nutrition awareness.
