 Lipscomb Elementary Holiday Program

 

Saxophonist Vann Burchfield of Woodstock, Alabama was the guest of honor at a holiday program held at Lipscomb Elementary on December 7.  Mr. Burchfield holds the Guiness World Record for continuous circular breathing.  He broke the record of entertainer Kenny G by holding a musical note for 47 minutes and six seconds.  He has performed at The White House and is a performing guest at church and civic functions around the world.  Hunter Goff, music teacher at Lipscomb coordinated the program which also involved some choral numbers with the audience.  Mr. Burchfield was the Solo Instrument Performance winners in 2001 at the Music in the Rockies Competition held in Estes Park, Colorado.

 

 

Lipscomb kindergarteners Jaymya Smee and Justin Bowers used their tamborines to help teacher Hunter Goff and saxophonist Vann Burchfield give a rendition of "Jingle Bells" at the Lispcomb Elementary Christmas festival on December 7.
