Oscar Mann sworn in as JefCoEd board member, replacing Karen Smith Nix

Presiding Judge Brian Huff of Family Court swore Oscar Mann in as a JefCoEd board member to replace retiring board member Karen Smith Nix November 14.  His first meeting will be Thursday, November 15.  From left are his sister, Bebe Pitts who retired in 1995 with 24 years service in personnel to JefCoEd, Mr. Mann, his wife Denise, Gardendale High School counselor, and Judge Huff.

Mr. Mann worked for park and recreation board for four years before working in JefCoEd for 22 years.  He was an assistant principal at Gardendale High and taught and coached at Fultondale High and Bragg Junior High.  For four years of work he   was a bus driver and served as the yearbook sponsor and advisor to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  Since retirement he has served as a long-term substitute teacher at North Jefferson Middle School.  Mr. Mann retired in 1996.  Welcome aboard, Mr. Mann.
