Hueytown Middle seventh grader DeMya Myrick is Nutcracker's Claire

Birmingham's Project Hopewell Inc., is sponsoring two performances of "The Chocolate Nutcracker," in a special national tour for 2012.  There are two performances, one daytime and one evening and local dancers audition for a chance to perform with the national troupe.  DeMya is dancing the daytime performance.  An ASFA ballerina is dancing the evening performance.

JefCoEd ballerina DeMya Myrick, a seventh grader Hueytown Middle Schooler is dancing the magical and principal role of Claire who gets a chocolate nutcracker from her favorite Aunt Pearl.  DeMya has been dancing since she was two years of age.  Her grandmother is Annie Pittman, a retiree of JefCoEd and her Mother is Cicely Myrick.  Ava Wise is the executive of the board of directors for Project Hopewell Inc.
