Volunteer Orientation for New JefCoEd Teachers draws big crowd

 

Four Bryan Teachers joined several hundred brand new teachers to the classroom or those teachers new to Jefferson County Schools for a day-long orientation at Irondale Middle just before school began August 20.  They heard pep talks and advice from JefCoEd's two Teacher of the Year candidates, Julie Ramsay of Fultondale Elementary and Joe Turner from Mortimer Jordan High.  Pictured from left are Miki White, kindergarten; Karen Williams, second grade; Kim Jones, kindergarten; and Katie Calder, fourth grade.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Irondale Middle Schools saw several hundred teachers getting oriented to JefCoEd policies, rules and regulations on August 15.  Speakers were the JefCoEd Teachers of the Year Julie Ramsay and Joe Turner as well as the superintendent and other administrators.  It was a voluntary meeting with its usual high attendance numbers.  Pictured are center, Charlie Bucca, exceptional ed  at Clay-Chalkville High, flanked by from left, Carlie Smith, fourth grade at Chalkville Elementary, Rachel Ifill, freshman,sophomore English at Center Point High,  and Caitlin Hollis, first grade at Fultondale Elementary.
