has tip top bus inspectors

Transportation Frank Goode, Shane Cochran, both technician/bus specialists, Josh Dunn, shop foreman, and co-director Della Baker were honored at the Leadership Council September 12.   The Alabama SDE has sponsored the state preliminary contest for the America's Best Training and Skills Challenge for two years and Shane Cochran has been first place both years.  Frank Goode, his co-worker placed second in the state and the final scores were very close.  The competitively timed contest involves bugging a school bus with electronic and mechanical problems and the contestant fixing the most problems in the shortest amount of time wins.  Alabama winner's Shane competes nationally in Rocky Mount, North Carolina September 25-28 final competition.  Congratulations to our terrific transportation department who daily transport 20,000 students to JefCoEd's 56 schools!
