January's quarterly meeting for the district's Foundation
Jefferson County Public Schools Foundation met January 12 in its quarterly meeting. They welcomed new board member Kim Munford, president of the Jefferson County PTA Council, left. Other members attending included Mike Hobbs, Dean of Enrollment Mike Hobbs, Jefferson State Community College, and Terri Williams, right, is foundation board president. The foundation provides a competitive grant program for enrichment of the district's classrooms and many other supportive programs and projects which enhance the role of the classroom teacher such as the Stellar program to encourage more NBCTs, and the Lead Mentor Program giving critical first-year support to brand new teachers. Executive director is Sally Price.
