Fultondale Elementary students put Fultondale on the International Map

John Dewey said it so well, "The world is moving at a tremendous rate.  Going no one knows where.  We must prepare our children, not for the world of the past.  Not for our world.  But for their world.  The world of the future."

Fultondale Elementary fifth graders from left to right, Trip Chapman, Tre' Hixson, Lauren O. Harris, and Lindsey Harris surround their teacher Julie Ramsay, JefCoEd's Elementary Teacher of the Year.   The students spoke at a state and an international technology for the classroom convention in Birmingham and San Diego respectively this summer.  Their presentation showed how they designed their project within content areas, collaborated with students nationwide, and how they used blogs and designed rubrics for their own assessment.  Teachers attending were very complimentary of the presentation.   Tre' Hixson said, " I changed the way that teacher teaches forever.  Isn't that what this is all about? Sharing our ideas to help others."
