Former JefCoEd Superintendent Dr. Byron Nelson and his wife Carolyn joined Dr. Joe Morton, former Alabama Superintendent for Dr. Phil Hammonds' retirement party at the board offices December 13. A large crowd of well-wishers and employees were in attendance. Coordinators of the event were Board president Jennifer Parsons, Peggy Rhodes, and superintendent secretary Nancy Spangler and with help from many central office employees. Former JefCoEd Superintendent Dr. Bobby Neighbors and Dr. Roger Tomberlin attended as well as Representatives Jabo Waggoner, Paul DeMarco, and many local mayors.
Senator Jabo Waggoner presented a proclamation from Governor Bob Bentley at the retirement party for Dr. Phil Hammonds December 13 at the board office. At right is Jennifer Parsons who presided over the event where former superintendents from the state and JefCoEd as well as Alabama legislators attended.
