Board gifts given to school libraries
January each year is known as Board Appreciation Month, and school board members are honored for their service. Since 2004, JefCoEd board members are given books donated by local vendors and the books are immediately given to school librariers. Board member Jacqueline Smith is shown gifting Concord Elementary with a book entitled "It's Thanksgiving," to principal David Foster.
January is National Board Month and each of the more than 15,000 school districts in the nation usually celebrate the service of board members with some type of recognition. Since 2004, local vendors have given books for board members to JefCoEd and the books are immediately passed onto selected school libraries.
