Twenty-three Mt. Olive fifth graders among 428 countywide fifth grade scholars

During two nights in November at Gardendale First Baptist Church, 428 fifth graders from 27 elementary schools were honored for their academic prowess determined by an achievement they took as fourth graders.  Four of the students from Mt. Olive are from left Alex Alford, Leila Allen, Caleb Barckley, and Taran Barckley.

 

 

  

Erwin Elementary's fifth grade scholars

Erwin's fifth grade scholars were part of the 428 fifth graders from 27 schools honored over two nights in November at the Gardendale First Baptist Church.  Here they are pictured with the keynote speaker, Clay-Chalkville senior Madeline Mosley, who gave the charge to the students to develop their potential and study even harder starting now for scholarships.  Students pictured are from left Rachid Bowles, Carmeial Harris, and Arial Peterson.  Students were selected by an achievement test they took in the spring of fourth grade in math and reading.
