For 14 years  the Jefferson County School System has been recognized by the 19th annual SchoolMatch "What Parents Want" Award.  There are 24 other Alabama public school systems that join us in meeting the standards of excellence in the seven required criteria.

They include Competitive academic test scores; accreditation; recognition for excellence by a national foundation or the US Department of Education; competitive teacher salaries; above (national) average instructional expenditures; above (national) average expenditures for library/media services; and small class sizes.
